sputnik sweetheart

October 12, 2017

It was December and I had recently read Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami. The characters vacation on a Greek island and I remember feeling the contrast between my cold sheets and my thoughts as I dreamt of similarly bathing in turquoise clear water and exploring the warmth of my fantasy reality.

Sometimes you are able to enter your fictional world and I was lucky enough to travel to the island of Corfu shortly later. One song that stuck with me on the trip was Chronic Sunshine by Cosmo Pyke and if you really want to get the full experience put it on while you scroll through the photos.

“In dreams you don't need to make any distinctions between things. Not at all. Boundaries don't exist. So in dreams there are hardly ever collisions. Even if there are, they don't hurt. Reality is different. Reality bites. Reality, reality.”
